MGU LIVE Lifetime FSC
Vehicle-specific Lifetime FSC activation file for
navigation map updates on compatible BMW vehicles equipped with an
MGU head unit and using Road Map LIVE.
This product includes the FSC activation file only. Navigation map data is
not included and must be obtained separately.
Before ordering
Check the navigation map version currently installed in the vehicle:
- Open Navigation or Maps.
- Open Settings.
- Select Position and version or Map version.
- Confirm that the displayed map name contains LIVE.
Example:
Road Map Europe LIVE 2026-1
Do not order this product if the displayed map type is EVO, WAY, ROUTE,
NEXT, PREMIUM, MOVE or MOTION.
Vehicles displaying JOY require separate compatibility
confirmation and must not be assumed to use the same LIVE activation file.
Information required
- Last 7 characters of the VIN
- Current navigation map version
- Confirmation that the displayed map type is LIVE
What you will receive
You will receive a vehicle-specific FSC activation file prepared for the
submitted VIN and compatible LIVE navigation map region.
The supplied FSC file is linked to the submitted vehicle and cannot be used
in another vehicle.
Installation instructions
- Extract the downloaded LIVE navigation map package on your computer.

Copy the contents of the navigation map package directly to the root of
the USB flash drive. Do not place the map data inside an additional
folder. -
Create a new folder named FSC in the root of the USB
flash drive. The folder name must be written in capital letters. -
Copy the received vehicle-specific
.fscfile into the
FSC folder. -
Connect the prepared USB flash drive to a compatible USB port in the
vehicle. -
If the map data and FSC file have been prepared correctly, the
navigation system will detect the update and offer to start the
installation. -
Confirm the update and leave the USB flash drive connected until the
installation has been completed.

- 64 GB USB drive: NTFS/exFAT
- The USB drive must contain the correct LIVE map region
Important compatibility notice
This product is intended only for compatible MGU navigation systems
displaying Road Map [Region] LIVE.
Vehicle model and chassis alone are not sufficient to confirm compatibility.
The actually installed head unit, displayed map version, vehicle market and
retrofit history must be checked before fulfilment.
This product does not include a navigation region conversion. If the
destination region differs from the region currently activated in the
vehicle, a separate region conversion procedure may be required.
