MGU2 Joy Lifetime FSC
Vehicle-specific Lifetime FSC activation code for
navigation map updates on compatible BMW vehicles using
Road Map JOY.
The supplied code is intended for future JOY navigation map updates for the
same vehicle and supported map region. Navigation map data is not included.
Before ordering
Check the navigation map version currently installed in the vehicle:
- Open the Navigation or Maps menu.
- Open Settings.

Select Position and version,
Map version or Version information. -
Confirm that the displayed navigation map name contains
JOY.
Example:
Road Map Europe Joy 2026-1
Do not order this product if the displayed map type is LIVE, EVO, WAY,
ROUTE, NEXT, PREMIUM, MOVE or MOTION.
Information required
- Last 7 characters of the VIN
- Current navigation map version
- Required navigation map region
What you will receive
You will receive a vehicle-specific Lifetime FSC activation code prepared
for the submitted VIN and supported Joy map region.
The activation code is linked to the submitted vehicle and cannot be used
in another vehicle.
This product includes the activation code only. It does not include the
JOY navigation map files.
Installation instructions

Download and extract the correct JOY navigation map package for the
required region. -
Locate the map data folder. Depending on the package, its name may begin
withNAVD. -
Copy all files and folders located inside the map data folder directly
to the root of the USB flash drive. -
Do not copy the complete outer map folder to the USB drive and do not
place the map data inside an additional folder. -
Connect the prepared USB flash drive to a compatible USB port in the
vehicle. -
Wait until the navigation system detects the map data and offers to
start the update. -
Confirm the update and enter the supplied FSC activation code when
requested by the vehicle. -
Leave the USB flash drive connected until the map installation has been
completed.

This product provides an activation code, not an FSC file. Do not create an
FSC folder unless separate instructions supplied with the
exact map package explicitly require one.
Important compatibility notice
This product is intended only for vehicles whose navigation version
displays Road Map [Region] Joy.
Vehicle model, chassis, production year or curved display alone do not
confirm compatibility. The map type displayed in the vehicle must be
checked before ordering.
Vehicles using BMW Operating System 9 or BMW Operating System X may use
online-streamed navigation maps and may not support a conventional manual
USB map update.
A change to a different navigation region may require an additional
region-conversion procedure. This Lifetime FSC code does not automatically
confirm that a region change is supported.
