Latest available navigation map data for compatible BMW vehicles using
Road Map JOY.

Region notice: A normal map update must use the same region

BMW Road Map JOY Update

Updated navigation map data for compatible BMW vehicles whose current
navigation version displays Road Map [Region] JOY.

After purchase, we will provide a temporary download link
containing the selected JOY map package. No physical USB drive or postal
delivery is included.

Before ordering

  1. Open the Navigation or Maps menu in the vehicle.
  2. Open Settings and select Map version or Version information.
  3. Confirm that the displayed map name contains JOY.
  4. Check the currently activated map region.

Example:
Road Map Europe JOY 20XX-X

Do not order this product if the displayed map type is LIVE, EVO, WAY,
NEXT, ROUTE, PREMIUM, MOVE or MOTION.

The FSC activation code is not included and must be purchased separately
when required by the vehicle.

Installation instructions

  1. Download all files using the temporary link supplied after purchase.
  2. Extract the complete map archive on your computer.
  3. Copy the contents of the extracted USB-Stick or NAVD folder directly
    to the root of a USB flash drive with sufficient capacity.
  4. Do not place the map data inside an additional folder.
  5. Connect the prepared USB drive to the vehicle.
  6. Confirm the navigation update when it appears on the vehicle display.
  7. Enter a valid JOY FSC activation code if requested.
  8. Keep the USB drive connected until the installation is completed.

FSC activation

This map package does not include an FSC activation code.

The FSC region must match both the selected map package and the region
currently activated in the vehicle.

Region change

Installing maps from another region is not a standard map update. A normal
JOY FSC code does not automatically convert the navigation region.

If the required map region differs from the region currently activated in
the vehicle, purchase the separate FSC Region Change
service before starting the update.

Important compatibility notice

Compatibility must be confirmed using the map version displayed in the
vehicle. Vehicle model, chassis, production year or operating-system version
alone is not sufficient.
