BMW Road Map WAY Update

Updated navigation map data for compatible BMW and MINI vehicles whose
current navigation version displays
Road Map [Region] WAY.

After purchase, we will provide a temporary download link
containing the selected WAY map package. No physical USB drive or postal
delivery is included.

Before ordering

  1. Open the Navigation menu.
  2. Open Settings or press the OPTION button.
  3. Select Navigation system version or
    Version information.
  4. Confirm that the displayed map name contains WAY.
  5. Check the currently activated navigation region.

Example:
Road Map Europe WAY 20XX-X.

Do not order this product if the displayed map type is PREMIUM, NEXT, MOVE,
MOTION, ROUTE, EVO, LIVE or JOY.

The vehicle-specific WAY FSC activation file is not included and must be
purchased separately when required.

Installation instructions

  1. Download all files using the temporary link supplied after purchase.
  2. Extract the complete WAY map archive on your computer.
  3. Open the extracted map folder, normally beginning with
    NAVD.
  4. Copy all files and folders located inside the map folder directly to
    the root of a compatible USB flash drive.
  5. Do not copy the complete outer folder and do not place the map data
    inside an additional folder.
  6. Connect the prepared USB flash drive to the vehicle.
  7. Confirm the navigation update when it appears on the vehicle display.
  8. Keep the USB flash drive connected until installation is completed.

If a separate WAY FSC activation file must be imported, follow the
instructions supplied with that FSC product. Do not add an FSC folder or
activation file unless specifically instructed.

FSC activation

This map package does not include a vehicle-specific FSC activation file.

Recommended product:
BMW WAY Lifetime FSC for Navigation Map Updates.

The FSC activation must match the vehicle, WAY map generation and currently
activated navigation region.

Europe region

Europe WAY is supplied as one European map package and is not divided into
separate Europe East and Europe West products.

Region change

Installing WAY maps for another global region is not a standard map update.
A normal same-region WAY FSC activation does not automatically convert the
navigation region.

If the required map region differs from the region currently activated in
the vehicle, purchase the separate FSC Region Change
service before installation.

Important compatibility notice

This product is intended for compatible BMW and MINI navigation systems
displaying Road Map [Region] WAY.

Vehicle model, chassis, production year or display size alone is not
sufficient to confirm compatibility.
