BMW MGU / iDrive 7 Retrofit FSC Pack
The MGU / iDrive 7 Retrofit FSC Pack is intended for
compatible BMW and MINI vehicles equipped with a retrofitted or replacement
MGU head unit using the iDrive 7 interface.
Retrofit FSC activations authorise supported protected functions after the
MGU has been correctly installed, prepared and coded for the vehicle. The
pack normally includes the complete available FSC set for the supported
MGU / iDrive 7 configuration.
Activation method
Activation is performed using the Feature Installer
application through an ENET connection.
Feature Installer can be used on a compatible computer running
Windows 10, Windows 11 or macOS.
The activation procedure is straightforward and does not normally require
advanced coding knowledge. If the MGU already contains the correct vehicle
VIN and has been properly coded, connect the computer to the vehicle and
complete the supplied Feature Installer procedure.
Before activation
The MGU head unit must be technically compatible, correctly installed and
coded for the vehicle.
A replacement or retrofitted MGU must contain the correct VIN. If the VIN,
coding or software configuration is incorrect, additional preparation may
be required before the Retrofit FSC Pack can be activated.

The exact FSC content depends on the installed MGU, vehicle configuration

Optional technical assistance
Customers may complete the Feature Installer activation independently using
the supplied instructions and required equipment.
MGU preparation, VIN adaptation, coding and remote activation can be
performed by our technical specialist as a separate paid service.
Important limitations
The Retrofit FSC Pack activates supported functions but does not prepare,
program, code or repair the MGU head unit.
Successful activation requires a compatible MGU with the correct VIN and
suitable coding. Purchase of the FSC Pack does not add unsupported hardware
or functions.
Required information
Provide the vehicle VIN when placing the order. The last seven characters
are normally sufficient.
Confirm that the target system is MGU with iDrive 7.
Vehicles equipped with iDrive 8 require the separate MGU / iDrive 8
Retrofit FSC Pack.
