BMW CIC Retrofit FSC Pack
The CIC Retrofit FSC Package is intended for compatible
BMW vehicles equipped with a retrofitted or replacement CIC head unit.
Retrofit FSC activations authorise supported protected CIC functions after
the head unit has been installed and correctly prepared for the vehicle.
The package normally includes the available FSC set required for the
supported CIC configuration.
Activation method
CIC retrofit activation is completed in two main stages:
- Apply the supplied patch through the CIC USB port.
- Import the supplied FSC files into the head unit using E-Sys.
This procedure requires experience with BMW coding software and correct
preparation of the head unit. It is not a simple automatic activation.
Before activation
The CIC head unit must be technically compatible, correctly installed,
programmed and coded for the vehicle.
A replacement or retrofitted head unit may also require VIN adaptation,
vehicle-order coding or additional preparation before the patch and FSC
files can be imported successfully.

The exact FSC content depends on the requested configuration and the
functions supported by the installed CIC head unit.

- Laptop with suitable BMW coding software

- Technical knowledge required for patching, FSC import and coding

Customers with the required equipment and experience may complete the
activation independently.

Remote patching, FSC import, coding and related technical work are available
separately for an additional fee.
Important limitations
The Retrofit FSC Package does not repair defective CIC hardware, corrupted
software or an incorrectly installed or incompatible head unit.
Successful activation requires the CIC unit to be correctly prepared,
programmed and coded for the vehicle before the FSC procedure is completed.

Before ordering, confirm that the target head unit is
CIC. NBT, NBT EVO, EntryNav2 and MGU systems require their
corresponding Retrofit FSC products.
