BMW NBT EVO ID4 to ID6 Upgrade & Retrofit FSC Pack
This product is intended for compatible BMW and MINI vehicles equipped with
an NBT EVO head unit currently operating with the ID4 interface.
In addition to providing the vehicle-specific Retrofit FSC Pack, we can
offer the option to reflash the compatible ID4 head unit to an
ID6 software version.
The upgrade provides the newer ID6 menu design and allows supported
functions, including Apple CarPlay, to be activated after the head unit has
been correctly prepared and coded.

Apple CarPlay requirements
Apple CarPlay functionality depends on the installed head-unit hardware and
vehicle configuration.
Some vehicles equipped with NBT EVO ID4 may require the installation of a
compatible Wi-Fi antenna before wireless Apple CarPlay can
operate correctly.
Activation method
After the ID4 head unit has been successfully upgraded to the required ID6
software version, the Retrofit FSC Pack is activated using the
Feature Installer application through an ENET connection.
Feature Installer supports compatible computers running
Windows 10, Windows 11 or macOS.
If the head unit already contains the correct VIN and is properly coded for
the vehicle, the Feature Installer activation itself is straightforward and
does not normally require advanced coding knowledge.
Software preparation
The ID4-to-ID6 software upgrade requires suitable BMW programming data,
compatible software and correct preparation of the head unit.
We will provide the necessary information about the required software and
preparation before the upgrade is performed.
Flashing, programming, VIN adaptation, coding and remote technical work are
separate services and are not included in the FSC Pack price.

ID4 hardware limitation
NBT EVO ID4 head units have less available memory than native ID5/ID6 units.
After upgrading to ID6, normal operation is generally possible, but the
reduced hardware resources must be considered.
When the factory navigation system and Apple CarPlay are used intensively
at the same time, an upgraded ID4 head unit may occasionally restart.
Customers who do not actively use the factory navigation maps together with
Apple CarPlay typically experience fewer resource-related issues.
Important compatibility notice
Not every NBT EVO ID4 head unit is suitable for the ID6 software upgrade.
Compatibility must be confirmed from the actual head-unit hardware,
software level and vehicle configuration before flashing.
The Retrofit FSC Pack activates supported functions but does not repair
defective hardware, corrupted software or an incorrectly configured head
unit.
Required information
Provide the vehicle VIN when placing the order. The last seven characters
are normally sufficient.
Confirm that the currently installed system is
NBT EVO ID4. Native ID5/ID6 units require the separate
NBT EVO ID5/6 Retrofit FSC Pack.
